8th
Kyu

Black Belt Syllabus 3rd Dan - Sandan (2023)

Applicants must have held 2nd dan for at least 3 years with a minimum age of 28 years and have made the maximum contribution to all EWKR events.

No Students may apply for EWKR Dan Grading unless they have a
recommendation from their Official Club Sensei.

The Dan Gradings will include a written examination (Theory Paper) The result of the Theory Paper will be confidential and no dialouge will be allowed with EWKR Officials or any discussion of any kind permitted.

All Candidates are to ensure that they have a track record of Maximum contribution and involvement within and to all events of England Wado-Kai Karate-Do Renmei. Successful Candidates will in addition to receiving the appropriate EWKR Certificate/Diploma will also be issued with an appropriate Dan Grade Certificate/Diploma from the Federation of Wado-Kai Europe.

Renkei Waza (Combination Techniques)
1. Surikomi Maegeri Chudan - Nagashizuki Jodan - Mawashigeri Jodan
2. Sune-Geri, Mawashigeri Jodan - Ushirogeri Chudan - Gyakuzuki Chudan
 
Ippon Kumite (One Step Block)
1. jodan Uke Nihonme & Sanbonme
2. Chudan Uke Nihonme & Yonhonme
3. Maegeri Uke Gohonme & Ropponme

Ohyo Kumite (Semi Free Fighting)
1. Nanahonme
2. Happonme

Kihon Gumite
1. Happonme
2. Kyuhonme

Kata (Pre-arranged Form)
Three Kata selected from the following (changes each year):
